SUMMARY
Administers a process of dispensing medication to patients pursuant to a valid prescription with the highest attention to accuracy and patient education. Responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy department. Communicates with prescribers and offers counseling and assistance to patients with their health care concerns. Participates in patient-centered services such as immunizations and MTM (Medication Therapy Management). Provides friendly, helpful, and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complies with all applicable federal, state laws, pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
- Prepares and dispenses prescription medications, including maintenance of necessary records, accurate third-party adjudication and patient charges, and inventory management.
- Counsels patients and medical providers regarding the nature and use of drugs, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects, as well as monitoring the health and progress of patients to ensure compliance and optimize therapies.
- Participates in patient-centered services including immunization, MTM, and wellness programs.
- Supervises personnel in the daily operation of the pharmacy department and holds them accountable for complying with regulatory and company policies.
- Provides guidance and training to pharmacy interns, technicians, and pharmacy associates during the course of work and monitors performance.
- Uses professional judgment in providing exemplary service within the pharmacist’s scope of practice.
- Participates in business development activities in the store and community.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement programs to ensure patient safety.
- Maintains a neat, clean, and organized workstation at all times. Maintains department facilities consistent with legal and company standards.
- Completes required continuing education programs as required by state law.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy.
- Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice.
- Immunization Certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively: verbal, written and electronic.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must submit to DL Monitoring.
